Horse riding in Greece

Horse riding is known as a sport and also a leisure time activity. If you look across pictures, you see all the riders look really professional and also they look smart when they ride the horse. This is because it is been recognized as a master class event. This is also known as Equestrianism. This word is derived from Latin which means riding a horse in direct translation. But we often pronounce this as Horse riding. In the past when there was no proper transport system in the world, people  used horses as their mode of travel. So many people knew how to handle a horse and also to ride it. That is where all the horse sports such as polo, were created. Since they regarded this as a high class sport, there was even a dress code which was required for horse riding. The rider had to dress up in long slack pants, a long sleeve shirt with a coat and also this special helmet which was meant for riding. When the rider dresses up in this costume they look really professional.

Looking into the world today, not many people travel in horses, but still people use it as a leisure time activity. When it comes to Greece, they have recognized that this place is a wonderful place to go horse riding. This is simply because Greece is packed with a beautiful environment where is this no rushing vehicles, there is no traffic roads etc. Greece is also famous for its ruins, which also takes back in history about the Greek gods who lived on earth. So if you are travelling to Greece for a holiday, then you should try Horse riding.

As mentioned earlier, Greece is a beautiful place with beautiful scenery, wonderful place to go for sightseeing and may places to explore and see what Mother Nature has in store for you. This country is rather a silent country with not much of an environment which is really busy. If you are looking forward for that getaway which will ease your mind, then you surely should go to Greece.

Horse riding takes a significant place in Greece. This is because, since the place is not as busy as other towns around the world, there are not much of vehicles you could count to go for your tours. Even if there are, you wouldn’t get the maximum out of it. You will see ruins, awesome places but, to get the best out of your tour, you need to have something adventurous and also something which you have not done in your lifetime.

When you head into Greece there are two things that you could consider when you want to travel around the  countryside. One way will be Biking and the other would be horse riding. Because to get to most of those destinations, there are pathways which are narrow and no motor vehicle could take that road. So the best way to travel is through biking or horseback.

If you are heading somewhere towards Crete, which is the largest Island in Greece, you would definitely get a chance to ride a horse as there are many places where the horse riding facility is available. There are actually trails which are there around this island. This makes horse riding more interesting in this place. You will need to be adventurous and find out the tracks and roads yourself.

If you do not know how to ride a horse but you will still like to learn, that facility is available in the country too. There are schools where they actually teach you to ride horses. What happens here is that when you head there to those schools, you could select a horse of your choice. Then you could also select your options which are available. If you request for some horse riding training, they will be ready to help you anytime. With a few simple training sessions, you are good to go on your tour. If you even mention that you need a guide to accompany with, that option will be available. There are tour guides who help tourists to give more information about places, and these guides could even take you along those amazing paths where you could have a horse riding experience which you never experienced anywhere else in the world.

From Crete, you could also ride through horseback to the nearby towns such as Knossos and Chania where there are legendary stories which involve these places. Why wait, you could go find for more information yourself when you go visit these places.

If you feel like exploring these beautiful places yourself, you are most welcome to do so. You could pay a small deposit at a horse riding school, and get the horse per daily basis and start your tour. You could get a map and a GPS and start your journey right away. And there is an advantage when it comes to travelling on your own. Unlike having vehicles and touring, there are more advantages when you go horse riding. You could stop basically whatever location you desire. You could take many adventurous roads to view places; you could take your own  time when it comes to exploring places. There won’t be any rush, time wasted because you manage your own time. Besides you are on a holiday, why would you want to rush things and try to save time?

All in All Greece is that place where you could consider in having your dream vacation which will be hassle free. Food and lodging is good and cheap and there are many places which offer this service. People are full of hospitality; they are waiting to welcome foreigners and tourists with warmness and a true sense of Greek Spirit. So if you are looking for that amazing vacation which will relax you and your family members, then Greece is the place to go for, and don’t forget to go on horse riding because the enjoyment will be more, and you will be having more memories than you ever imagine.
