When you are out there for fishing, keep in mind that the size of your bait and gear matters a lot. Most of the times it is better to go with a light gear and bait. But in such situation when you came across a monster you will definitely need a heavier gear. Most of the people use an ultra light rod of 5 foot length and an ultra light reel for all sort of fishing. They may also catch some large fish with this kind of setup. The hooks used in fishing also vary in size but you must use a hook of size 10. Some other necessary equipment used for fishing is spinners and spoons. You must normally use spinners and spoons not bigger than ¼ ounce. Similarly the size of plugs should be four inches not more than this. If you wish heavy bait fishing then you will have to use a 10 to 12 ft rod having conventional spinning reels. The reel should have the tendency to bear at least 20 to 30 lb weight.

When you are out there for fishing your clothing really matters. If you are fishing in a river or stream you must not wear bright clothes with bright colors or even white because such colors are prominent and there is a chance that the fish will be able to have an eye on you and hence you can miss your target. You must always wear some dull colors which may mix up with the background and in this way you will be able to successfully deceive the fish. A very simple solution is to wear a t-shirt of brown or grey color instead of choosing red or some other bright colors. These are some valuable tips for fishing.

As all varieties of fish possess a very sensitive sense of smell and can easily detect any type of unnatural or unusual odor. A simple example is the smell of smoke from a cigarette. When you smoke a cigarette, after that your hands smell like an ashtray. This smell will surely transfer to anything which comes in contact with your hands. So when you touch a hook to attach a lure or bait on it, it will catch that smell. The fish will sniff it and after recognizing the smell will not bite it. An easy way to cope with such problem is to grab some weeds or dirt in your hands and rub it. This is rather a very simple tip which will definitely work for you.

Selection of bait is a very important phenomenon for fishing because some fish are very intelligent. So before choosing any bait you must ensure that the bait appears in most possible natural way.
