Ancient Greece – The Geometrical Times

The ancient Greece or Greek civilization is considered as one of the most ancient civilizations in the history of humanity. Studies on the archeological remains of this civilization confirm that this civilization was highly developed. According to studies the life style and inventions of this civilization indicates the high sense of aesthetics and order in this ancient civilization. The ancient Greeks were mainly dependent upon the seawater for their food and trade. They mainly built their houses near the shores. Travelling in boats from one place to another brought this ancient civilization to contact with other cultures. In this way, this civilization gained exposure to the world. This ancient civilization gained expertise in the field of agriculture and develop methods to produce their foods in a sustainable method. In addition to this Greek civilization gained exposure to different types of metal. In itinerary of moment, the Greeks transformed colonies, city-states, and each state was under the supervision of the king. At that, time democracy was hardly in practice. The Greeks had an interest in the sports. In the ancient times Olympic Games were began as the greatest athletic contest almost 800 BC.  The Greek civilization saw the birth of the many great philosophers such as Socrates, Plato and many great kings such as Alexander. In simple words, earliest Greece people were simply minded folks who left behind stunning inheritance of art, literature and philosophy.

Conformist name for the era of the primeval Greek art which is set about between 1,050 and 700 BC, and took name for beginning of the geometric decoration of the clay vases, which are the main existing works of the art of that age.  On the other hand, the geometric shapes did not come into view for the foremost time in art at that period. In previous cultures, lines, circles, spirals, rhombi, triangles and squares were used pottery of Mesopotamia throughout the fifth and fourth millennium BC.  At that time the naturalistic subject, landscape and animals were recognize with geometric schemes. Same types of figures were adopted in many other areas of the Asia Minor and west Asia. Besides these in central Europe and ancient Greece, the pottery products were decorated with many geometrical shapes and figures.

However, it is important know that thing distinguishes between the geometric art in Greek from the other. The Greek geometric art is not finding the new subjects but it is also the method of their arrangement in the facade of the ferry. The previous civilization geometric patterns the were intuitive liner secret language of the powerful and incomprehensible nature which is in the continues flow while on the other hand Greek geometric patterns give control and harmony to create rhythm between the secret language and prevails orderliness and natural balance.

Throughout this period beside the clay vases festooned with geometric motifs. The outstanding bronze-works were shaped as well. The bronze collectibles –of both male and female, of animals and birds -are primarily looks awkward and auxiliary in look. As time passed, on the other hand, the fine art was developed in a way that the uniqueness of the shapes and fiqures  for example soldier, charioteer, etc. and diverse styles and workshops such as Corinthian. Argive, , Attic, Laconian etc  can be renowned.

Distinguishing examples are the collectibles of horses, solitary or in composition, which are often represented for open job or solid basis. numerous of the bases have patterns on the bottom and were may be brought into use as seals. Jeweler pieces particularly pendants, safety pins and necklaces are found in a range of types.

To one side from the slight works, which are found as serious offerings were from the ninth century BC. The stand cauldrons were also fanatical in religious group sites. The cauldrons, huge bronze vessels, have encircling handles that are decorated with collectibles of naked male figures, soldiers and animals, particularly horses. They also have three high legs manner geometric junk including zigzag lines, circles associated by tangents and consecutively spiral.

There are many theories articulated about the derivation of the ancient Greek geometric art. A theory interpret, the expansion of the Mycenaean art, an additional accepts that had a popular background starting point, while others disagree that was urbanized due to Doric effects. Still has not given a suitable explanation to the problem.

The geometric ceramic objects appear with limited variation in numerous parts of Greece however, the main expansion center was in Attica. The most significant samples include interment gifts of tombs and the enormous funerary vase of the Dipylon cemetery in Athens. The geometric embellishment of the vases is approximately forever written, with a silky black or brown dye on the yellowish facade of the clay, and that was characterize by the geometric, typically as the crow flies designs decorate the horizontal adjacent terrazzo of the vase.

A comparable to the ceramic objects geometrical approach, characterize the statuette of this era, with the severe separation of the part of the cadaver and the triangular presentation of the chest, at the most combatant collectibles and animals, particularly clay or bronze horses, that had a faction fantasy.

The ancient Greek geometric talent is now recognized as primitive and barbaric and well liked today for the achievements in clay art.  The concept of the pure forms and the ways of the immense work of art were given innovative solutions to the problem of insertion of three-dimensional shapes in comparison to two-dimensional legroom of the painting facade.

Other answer of arithmetical period is bronze tripod, bronze imprinted buckles, few hammered sheets- casing with small wooden larnakes for storing the ashes of the dead. One of the unique is magnificent bronze armor, exceptional of its kind, since the closing stages of the eight century.

Regardless of all the explanation about the geometric era of the ancient Greek civilization one thing is sure that the ancient civilization was simply at its best. The minded and genius folks have left us to follow to their surprising legacy of art, literature and philosophy.
